EVENT MECHANICS

this event will use a derivative of the MERIT POINTS system found in PAAA. this iteration of the MP system will not be the same one present in POSTDORMITUM, an event scheduled later this year.

these MP points are specific only to this event. they will not be used to purchase permanent items, rewards, or carry over into other events. their only purpose is to be used for FACTION BOOSTERS which may introduce different mechanics or temporary benefits within a PREDORMITUM thread.

tracking and logging your MP is optional. for those that only wish to engage in PVP, feel free to avoid this system altogether.

below are ways to earn MP during PREDORMITUM. these values are subject to change; however they have been calculated in accordance to a variety of factors including how we want this event to proceed.

you may claim more than one of these methods in your post. however, each one can only be claimed once PER POST.

• 10 MP for assisting another character and/or their Pokemon.
• 10 MP for referencing another character (must include tag).
• 10 MP if your attempt fails. this can extend beyond just attacks such as trying to deceive an opponent, distract them, or sneak up on them.
• 30 MP if you mention an opponent’s attempt (deceit, distract, strategy) is successful against you.
• 20 MP if you mentions suffering from a status ailment (poison tick, paralyzed this turn, frozen).

there are no limits for claiming these.

• 30 MP for having your pokemon hit by an opponent’s attack.
• 120 MP for having your character hit by an opponent’s attack.
• 150 MP for having your pokemon knocked out by an opponent.
• 300 MP for having your character significantly injured by an opponent.
• 300 MP for having your pokemon killed by an opponent.

these can be claimed each time they occur. a moderator will track these independently.

• 50 MP if an opponent MEGA EVOLVES.
• 50 MP if an opponent utilizes a SYGNA SUIT.
• 50 MP if an opponent TERASTALLIZES.
• 100 MP if an opponent uses a Z-MOVE.

listed above is the amount of MP points a faction has accumulated within their thread. [break][break]

each faction may choose to spend their MP to purchase a FACTION BOOSTER. this decision should be unanimous or held by a majority of those participating within the thread. once formalized, they may send a request to SPIRAL and, after verification, post in here to make that purchase.

a moderator will then make a mod post within the respective PREDORMITUM thread to introduce the FACTION BOOSTER. sometimes, these may include prompts, new mechanics, or other details.

FULL HEAL — 400 MP[break]
a pokemon from each character of the redeeming faction will be healed in some fashion. to what extent will be outlined in the moderator post. this heal only applies to pokemon the character owns. pokemon granted by other FACTION BOOSTERS are not effected by this buff.

MEGA EVOLUTION — 650 MP[break]
each character from the redeeming faction may MEGA EVOLVE a pokemon of their choice. they do not need to own a MEGA STONE for their choice. this does not count toward the ONE MEGA EVOLUTION PER THREAD limitation.

Z-MOVE — 800 MP[break]
each character from the redeeming faction may is granted a temporary Z-CRYSTAL. they will not keep it after this event even if it is unused. using it does not count toward the ONE Z-MOVE PER THREAD limitation, the traditional rules about which z-moves are available to a pokemon still apply. more information can be found: here.

FREE EVOLUTION — 300 MP[break]
each character from the redeeming faction may evolve their pokemon mid-battle. this does not require an evolution item or purchase from the shop. this does not apply to pokemon that have special evolution methods such as: meltan, kubfu, poipole.

REINFORCEMENTS — 1500 MP[break]
an NPC will appear to assist the redeeming faction. these NPCs may be aligned with the faction or a neutral party that coincidentally assists the redeeming faction in some manner.

RANGER STYLUS — 4000 MP[break]
LEAGUE ONLY [break]
each character from the redeeming faction will be granted a temporary tool. while more details will be outlined in the mod post, this tool will effective take a pokemon out of battle for several turns.

SYGNA SUIT PROTOTYPE — 3500 MP[break]
LEAGUE ONLY [break]
each character from the redeeming faction will be granted a SYGNA SUIT prototype. this functions just like a SYGNA SUIT but will be destroyed by the end of the thread. more information can be found: here.

SHADOW POKEMON — 4500 MP[break]
ROCKET ONLY [break]
each character from the redeeming faction will be granted a temporary SHADOW POKEMON. this cannot be a LEGENDARY, MYTHICAL, ULTRA BEAST, HISIUAN, or PALDEAN pokemon. treat them like a CUSTOM REDEEMED POKEMON. one of their moves may be a SHADOW MOVE of your choosing.

MAGMA AVATAR — 6000 MP[break]
ROCKET ONLY [break]
each NON-AVATAR character of the redeeming faction will be granted temporary avatarship. the abilities will be outlined in the mod post. this is temporary and only last during this event. each character will suffer some side effects which will cause them to become vulnerable mid-battle.
